Clearwater, Florida, is increasingly becoming a focal point for significant global events, bringing international attention and economic benefits to our community.
Clearwater Offshore Nationals
From September 25-27, 2026, Clearwater Beach will host the XINSURANCE Clearwater Offshore Nationals. Approximately 90 race boats, some reaching speeds up to 150 mph, will compete just off the shore. Spectators can enjoy the races from the beach, Pier 60, or boats anchored offshore. This event is free to the public and serves as a qualifier for the World Championships in Key West.
Country Thunder Festival Relocates to Clearwater
Originally planned for St. Pete Beach, the Country Thunder Florida festival has been relocated to Coachman Park in Clearwater, scheduled for May 8-10, 2026. The move addresses environmental concerns related to sea turtle and shorebird nesting seasons. The festival will feature major country artists and is expected to draw large crowds, boosting local tourism and businesses.
Upcoming Global Sailing Competition
Looking ahead, St. Petersburg and Clearwater have been selected as the sole North American stop for The Ocean Race, a 30,000-mile global sailing competition. This prestigious event will bring international teams and spectators to our area, further enhancing our region’s global profile.
Hosting these events not only showcases Clearwater’s appeal as a destination but also provides significant economic and cultural benefits to our community.
