Clearwater, Florida, is increasingly becoming a focal point for international events, bringing global attention and economic benefits to our community.
International Citrus & Beverage Conference
From September 15 to 18, 2026, the Sheraton Sand Key Resort will host the International Citrus & Beverage Conference (ICBC). This annual event, organized by the University of Florida, has been a cornerstone for the citrus and beverage industries since 1960. Attendees will discuss critical issues, including global juice and beverage technology and the impact of new regulations like the Food Safety Modernization Act. The conference offers a platform for industry professionals to network and explore the latest trends and challenges facing the sector.
Clearwater Offshore Nationals
Later in the month, from September 25 to 27, 2026, Clearwater Beach will be the stage for the XInsurance Clearwater Offshore Nationals. Approximately 90 race boats, some reaching speeds up to 150 mph, will compete just off our shores. This thrilling event not only offers free admission but also provides multiple vantage points for spectators, including Pier 60 and surrounding parks. The races serve as a qualifier for the World Championships in Key West, adding a competitive edge to the festivities.
Country Thunder Festival Relocates to Clearwater
In a significant development, the Country Thunder Florida festival has announced its move to Coachman Park in Clearwater for its May 8 to 10, 2026 dates. Originally scheduled for St. Pete Beach, the relocation comes after environmental concerns were raised about the festival’s impact on sea turtle and shorebird nesting seasons. This move underscores Clearwater’s commitment to hosting major events while respecting environmental considerations.
These events not only enhance Clearwater’s global profile but also contribute significantly to our local economy and community spirit. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to a vibrant calendar filled with international flair right here in our backyard.
